Independence Day Celebration

Westminster College will host an Independence Day celebration with a free concert and fireworks at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Brittain Lake. The 19th annual concert features River City Brass Band. Attendance in recent years has reached 10,000, so early arrival is suggested. Bring blankets and lawn chairs as well as picnic baskets and refreshments. Battery D 229th Field Artillery of the Pa. National Guard will supply howitzer fire during the 1812 Overture. The evening is capped with a fireworks display provided by Pyrotecnico.
