August — The List

Aug. 1 — Cleveland Jazz Project at the Bop Stop. Featuring: Nathan-Paul Davis, saxophone; Jacob Bergson, piano; Ben Bloom, bass; and James Muschler, drums.

Aug. 1 — Straight from the Valley and headed to Broadway (well, almost) Lucasville: The Untold Story of a Prison Uprising” at Kent Trumbull.

Aug. 2 — Needs no introduction: Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival featuring Slipnot at the Post-Gazette Pavilion near Pittsburgh (Burgettstown).

Aug. 2 — For theater vets and newcomers, it’s a must: The 4th annual 24-Hour Theater Performance at Trumbull New Theater.

Aug. 2 — Gypsy punk!?! Gogol Bordelo is at the House of Blues in Cleveland.

Aug. 3 — “We Were Here,” so where were you? Joshua Radin with Vanessa Carlton and Alexa Wilkison at the Grog Shop in Cleveland Heights.

Aug. 3 ­— Because you can never have too much art and music, go to Sunday at Cedars.

Aug. 6 ­— Latin jazz bassist and vocalist Esperanza Spalding at Nighttown in Cleveland.

Aug. 8 — You can’t get more local than this: Party on the Plaza with Jones for Revival.

Aug. 8 — If you like it loud, Barleys is the place to be when 3AP Presents: Wake the Lion, Noetic, Amplexus and Modern Life.

Aug. 9 — Your mom will remember them from American Bandstand. Take her to see Jay and The Americans at the Columbia Theater in Sharon.

Aug. 9 — Experimental/ psychedelic + acoustic/ folk = Cedars with The Softrocks and Nathaniel Hoho.

Aug. 10 — Tease your hair and get ready to rock with Poison, Dokken and Sebastian Bach at the Post-Gazette.
