Taco Bell tastes like Taco Bell, which is to say, delicious! I demand a retraction and I demand you actually do some research before spouting off so-called "opinions" about foodstuffs you obviously know nothing about. Petty arguments about "authentic" Mexican food reveal your true and devious agenda: your sinister love for illegal immigrants who sneak across the border to make burritos and rape our daughters! I see through you, Mr. Mackey, and your anti-American lies. Retract, I say, retract!

You list Feb. — Black History Month — as the worst month of the year, and you predict the assassination of Obama.

YOU SIR, ARE A RACIST!

Also, check your facts, Mr. Mackey. I know for a fact, that Wilmer Valderamma did not drop his hat, even once, in all of 2007.

Here's a concept: People will support music they like and not pay money to see music they don't like.

If nobody is coming to your shows, either increase your marketing budget or deal with it. No need to brow beat people into coming to see a style of music they don't enjoy under the auspices of being open minded.

If I don't want to see a heavy metal band or a white rapper, I shouldn't be made to feel guilty about it because I'm not supporting the scene. Especially if the musicianship or originality is sub par.

If you really want to be a real and successful music artist, harsh criticism comes with the terrain. Money and fame more than make up for that though. If the Kellys and Ruckus really think they are going to make it, they may as well get used to criticism.

When they hit the big time, they are likely to have Perez Hilton MSPaint cum on their face or have tabloids write about the scandalous sex lives of their members.

I also don't agree that all criticism should be constructive and build people up. That's the kind of self-esteem psycho-babble that sets aspiring artists up for a big let down when they don't make it. And most aspiring anythings (musicians, actors, athletes) don't make it.

I and many people enjoy non-constructive criticism. It's entertaining. When you read about your least favorite TV show, you're not looking for the critic in his 500 words to write helpful tips on how the show could be better. You want to hear why it sucks. That kind of criticism is meant not for the people making the product but for the potential consumers of the product. The average Joe reading the above blog is not going to care about what it takes for the Kellys to improve. He wants to know how good they are now.

Seriously, grow a pair and get over it. If you can't take criticism, you shouldn't be in the public eye.

In the case of the above blog, though, Bob was criticizing what was said in an article, which he did read, making his opinion on the comments within the article valid.

Bob's is an opinion you disagree with, however, you are biased. It's about you. Of course you have a problem with it. I'm sure Paris Hilton has a problem with all the late night talk show hosts who make fun of things she says. And I doubt Jay Leno ever listened to a Paris Hilton record. He can still tell a joke about her based on the information he does have. And I doubt you get offended when Jay Leno makes fun of Paris Hilton.

If you take a step back from your personal involvement in the whole situation, you'd realize how pointless this all is.

If you don't like it, don't read it.

Not commenting about the quality of Ruckus, but there is a very legitimate argument for criticism of any kind:

If Bob thinks the Kelly's suck, or if he thinks ruckus is "lame," its called an opinion. Everyone has opinions and many people share those opinions. And opinions serve as warnings and recommendations for others.

Times are tight. I know I don't have the cash or the time to wade through all of the media out there. There are a lot of CDs, DVDs, books, magazines, newspapers, TV shows, movies, web sites, theatrical performances, artwork, pornography, etc. out there. Criticism helps you decide how to spend your time and money.

You rely on the opinions of others for many choices you make in media consumption. If you've looked at a 10 best or 10 worst of 2007 list this year and were influenced by that enough to check out a song or a movie (or not check out), then you too have personal experience with what i'm talking about.

I'm sure the director of Gigli thought he was "doing something positive for the community." I'm sure Paris Hilton thinks she is valuable and worthy of praise. But just because you are creating art does not automatically qualify you for "community savior" status with immunity from criticism.

If Bob thinks ruckus is lame and you disagree, fine. But you can't argue an opinion on someone's musical taste. It's fruitless.

For example, nobody is going to be able to change my mind regarding how awesome an album Abbey Road is. Likewise, I'm not going to waste my time debating them if they thought Abbey Road was pretentious hippie drivel.

In short, advice to all sides: YOU ARE WASTING YOUR TIME DEBATING THE FINER POINTS OF THE ABOVE BLOG. Nobody is right, nobody is wrong. That's the beauty of an opinion.
